A solemn event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was held on May 28th in Berlin.
The 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was marked solemnly in Berlin on May 28th with a concert program and reception.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Federal Republic of Germany H.E. Mr. Ramin Hasanov delivered an opening speech and greeted the guests. Ambassador stressed the role of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in the history of modern Azerbaijan, noted the strategic partnership relations of Azerbaijan with Germany and European Union and highlighted the importance of international energy projects carried out by Azerbaijan and the role of Azerbaijan in the implementation of North-South and East-West transport corridors.
H.E. Mr. R. Hasanov informed the guests about the occupation of territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan by the armed forces of Armenia and the results of the occupation. He noted that restoring territorial integrity of our country is one of the main foreign policy priorities of Azerbaijan.
H.E. Mr. Andreas Peschke Director for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, delivered in his speech his gratitude for the invitation and expressed his heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.
The event was opened with the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Germany in the performance of Rhein Symphonic Orchestra. The Orchestra conducted by Maestro Yalchin Adigozalov, famous conductor of Azerbaijan, performed the well-known works of Gara Garayev, Fikret Amirov and other prominent composers of Azerbaijan. The Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Ilham Nazarov (countertenor) and Selcan Nasibli (soprano), Valid Agayev (violin) and Orxan Zeynalov (Tar) also performed at the concert.
The event was followed by the reception.
