On March 1, Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with the delegation led by Elisabeth Winkelmeier-Becker, Chairwoman of the Committee on Legal Affairs of the Bundestag
Welcoming the guests in the Parliament of Azerbaijan, the speaker expressed her hope that this visit will contribute to the relations between our countries and parliaments. She noted that Azerbaijan and Germany are friendly and partner countries, and both sides are interested in the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries.
The Speaker of the Milli Majlis reminded that the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia met in Munich with the mediation of Chancellor Olaf Scholtz, and thereupon, the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia held talks on the peace agreement in the German capital. The neutral position of Germany in this matter was positively evaluated.
At the meeting, views were exchanged on bilateral cooperation, relations between the parliaments, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
