Iftar Reception at the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Berlin
On March 17, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Germany hosted an Iftar reception at the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Berlin. The event was attended by Ambassadors and diplomats from the Turkic states. A special guest of honor was Mr. Sultan Raev, Secretary General of the International Organization for the Culture of the Turkic Peoples (TÜRKSOY).
In a world increasingly striving for cultural dialogue and unity, the event symbolized the solidarity and shared identity of the Turkic peoples. Millions of people with roots in the Turkic states live in Germany, and their historical and cultural heritage is an important part of German society, contributing to the country’s diversity and dynamism.
During the reception, the significance of promoting the shared history and culture of the Turkic peoples in Germany was emphasized. Participants discussed future projects in the fields of art, culture, and science to bring the rich traditions of the Turkic world to a wider audience.
The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Germany, Nasimi Aghayev, highlighted the growing role of the Turkic states. “The Turkic world is rising with unstoppable momentum. Our unity spans across economics, culture, and beyond, forging a powerful alliance that strengthens us all. This bond is not just a historical necessity—it is our destiny. Rooted in the values of tolerance, inclusivity, and respect for diversity, we forge ahead, embracing our rich heritage while fostering peace and progress for all,” the Ambassador stated.
Sultan Raev underscored TÜRKSOY’s mission: “The preservation, promotion, and transmission of our shared historical and cultural heritage are not only important for us but for all of humanity. The close cooperation of the embassies of the Turkic states abroad plays a key role in this process.”
As part of his visit to Berlin, Sultan Raev met with Ambassador Nasimi Aghayev and toured the Azerbaijani Cultural Center, which serves as a significant venue for cultural exchange.
This event sent a strong message about the growing importance of the culture of the Turkic peoples in Germany and Europe. It underscored the need for an active dialogue and joint initiatives to make the cultural heritage and diversity of these historic communities more known to a wider audience.
