President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met with President of the European Council Donald Tusk in Brussels.
The meeting was followed by a ceremony to mark the end of negotiations of the EU-Azerbaijan Partnership Priorities.
The head of state arrived at the European Union headquarters.

The successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union in political, economic, energy, transport and other areas was pointed out at the meeting. Azerbaijan`s role in Europe`s energy security and the importance of the recently inaugurated TANAP project was outlined. The sides exchanged views on the situation, security and challenges in the region where Azerbaijan is situated.
The Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was discussed at the meeting, and President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the current state of the dispute.
President of the European Council Donald Tusk hailed Azerbaijan`s positive experience in secular and modern society building.
The sides also discussed human rights situation in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan-EU cooperation in this area.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and President of the European Council Donald Tusk hailed Partnership Priorities, saying the document will open up new opportunities for future development of partner relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union.
The ceremony then continued with the signing of Partnership Priorities in the presence of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the European Council Donald Tusk.
The document was signed by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov.
