An event dedicated to Independence Day of Azerbaijan was held in Berlin
On June 6, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Germany organized a large event at the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Berlin on the occasion of Independence Day of Azerbaijan. The event was attended by numerous members of the German Bundestag, high-ranking representatives of German state authorities, ambassadors of foreign countries in Germany, media representatives, science and culture figures, as well as members of Azerbaijani, Turkish and other communities living in Germany, in total more than 500 guests.
At the event, Azerbaijani children of the native language course at the "Khari Bulbul" House of Azerbaijani Culture sang the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Germany. The guests then watched a short film about COP29.
The ambassador of Azerbaijan to Germany, Nasimi Aghayev, noted that 106 years ago, the people of Azerbaijan founded the first secular republic in the Muslim world. Saying that the aforementioned republic has achieved many successes, the ambassador especially emphasized the recognition of women's right to vote. He said that the republic, which ceased to exist in 1920, was restored in 1991 with the re-proclamation of independence. The ambassador talked about the unparalleled services of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the establishment of the modern Azerbaijani statehood, the rapid development of Azerbaijan under the leadership of the President Ilham Aliyev, and the importance of ensuring the territorial integrity of our country as a result of the 44-day Patriotic War from the point of view of statehood.
At the event, Matthias Lüttenberg, director for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia at the German Federal Foreign Office, delivered a congratulatory speech on the occasion of the Independence Day of Azerbaijan on behalf of the German Federal Government. In his speech, he expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of German-Azerbaijani relations.
The pieces of Azerbaijani and international jazz music performed by the "Caucasian Consort" group led by our Germany-based compatriot musician Tural Ismayilov delighted the guests. Also, our national costumes were shown by the young people and delicious dishes of our cuisine were presented. The stage decorated with national ornaments was met with great interest.
