The Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev paid a visit to Germany
The Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Hikmet Hajiyev, paid a visit to Germany on October 15.
During the visit, Hikmet Hajiyev met in Berlin with Dr. Günter Sautter, Foreign and Security Policy Advisor to the German Chancellor. The discussions focused on bilateral relations and current regional developments. Hajiyev also held talks with Géza Andreas von Geyr, State Secretary at the Federal Foreign Office. The meeting addressed issues of peacebuilding in the South Caucasus, the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, and topics related to regional connectivity.
At the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), one of Germany’s most influential think tanks, Hikmet Hajiyev presented Azerbaijan’s foreign policy priorities, the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as strategic energy and transport projects.
To conclude the visit, Hikmet Hajiyev participated in a roundtable discussion at the German Parliamentary Society attended by representatives of the Federal Government, the Bundestag, leading think tanks, and the media. The discussions centered on Azerbaijan’s growing role in the context of changing regional and global challenges.
The meetings underscored the great potential for further deepening the Azerbaijani-German partnership in all areas, based on mutual trust, shared interests, and a common vision for a stable, interconnected, and prosperous future.
