The 102nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev's birth commemorated in Berlin
An event dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Berlin, organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Germany.
Titled “The Founder of the Modern Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Leader of the Azerbaijani People,” the event was attended by high-ranking representatives of Germany’s Foreign Ministry and other government agencies, ambassadors of foreign countries, media representatives, intellectuals, cultural figures, as well as members of Azerbaijani, Turkish, and other communities living in Germany.
In his speech at the event, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Germany, Nasimi Aghayev, spoke about the unparalleled service of Heydar Aliyev to the Azerbaijani people and state. The diplomat stated that as the architect and founder of modern independent Azerbaijan, National Leader Heydar Aliyev saved his nation and state from the threats of civil war, fragmentation, and loss of independence during a critical time, leading the country toward stability, prosperity, and progress.
The ambassador noted that Heydar Aliyev made the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity a core priority of his national statehood strategy, and this sacred goal defined his entire political career. This noble mission has been fulfilled under the determined leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the worthy successor of the National Leader, with Azerbaijan fully restoring its territorial integrity and realizing Heydar Aliyev’s vision.
Ambassador Aghayev emphasized that today’s strong Azerbaijan enjoys great respect globally, and these achievements are rooted in the political course and development strategy defined by National Leader Heydar Aliyev. It was especially highlighted that Heydar Aliyev’s ideas are still alive today, serving as a unifying moral value for the Azerbaijani people and contributing to the country’s comprehensive development.
Aghayev also spoke about Heydar Aliyev’s role in establishing and developing relations between Germany and Azerbaijan, emphasizing that the great leader placed great importance on bilateral relations, which have continuously progressed as a result.
Following the speeches, soprano Marziya Huseynova of the Rhine State Opera in Germany, pianist Narmin Najafli, and German musicians performed a concert program featuring renowned works by prominent Azerbaijani and European composers.
As part of the event, participants had the opportunity to explore publications related to National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan.
The event concluded with the presentation of delicious examples of Azerbaijani national cuisine to the attendees.
